The Connectional Clinical Pastoral Education Program is an esteemed educational initiative tailored for ministers and laypersons of diverse denominations. Its primary objective is to elevate professional pastoral skills and foster personal development. Notably, this program accommodates individuals unable to partake in conventional CPE programs due to constraints such as time limitations.

Additionally, the program serves as a valuable avenue for probationary ministers within the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME) to fulfill the requisite one unit of CPE for attaining full connection clergy membership.

Distinguished by its unique structure, the program facilitates the convergence of ministers nationwide into small, interactive groups. These gatherings provide a platform for reflective learning, leveraging participants’ respective communities and places of ministry as contextual frameworks.

CCPE Program Details

The focus of this CPE program is on ministry in the congregation. Participants must have an approved place of ministry to complete the required hours in ministry each month of the program. The recommendation of a presiding bishop or supervising pastor is required as well. In addition to the ministry hours, attendance at all sessions is required.

There will be written assignments, readings, and some internet-based assignments. The program operates under the auspices of the Academy for Public Theology through the Office of the CME Endorser. The faculty is comprised of certified CPE Supervisors and certified professional chaplains.

TUITION is $550, which includes a $50 non-refundable application fee, a $150 deposit once accepted into the program, and a balance of $350 payable before the program begins. The tuition includes the required books. There is currently no scholarship program, however, a payment plan can be arranged.
